DP-28 Machine Gun

The DP (Degtyarev Pechotnyi or Degtyarev Infantry) light machine gun was manufactured in the Soviet Union and was nicknamed “The Record Player”. Ours was made in 1934 and is carried on the side car of the M-72 with ammunition carried in the boot of the sidecar. 

It weighs in at 11.43kg/25lbs and is 1.266m/50 inches long.

Ammunition is 7.62mm and 47 rounds are contained in the flat pan shaped magazine on top of the gun which gives it its nickname. Fire rate is quoted at 500 rounds per minute with a range of 800m.

The mark1 version that the Armoured Triumph WO/3SW motorcycle was armed with weighs 23lbs(10.43kg)
is 45.5 inches (1.155m) long with a 28 round magazine.
The gun has a fire rate of between 450-550 rounds per minute
and is accurate to 600 yards.
